Under mounting pressure from conservatives angered by surging federal spending, White House officials said yesterday that President Bush's 2005 budget will hold the growth of spending outside of defense and homeland security below 1 percent.Over at The Corner John J Miller sayeth thus:
Conservatives should treat this as a very important promise and let it be known that they will regard anything less as a Bush administration failure. That may be how conservatives would see it, but this libertarian leaning independent would regard it as a flat-out lie, betrayal, and he'll-never-get-my-vote deal breaker if Bush doesn't follow through.
On the bright side, I'd be very likely to vote Bush if he'd actually, like, cut spending.

Are you nuts!? What planet are you from?
I agree, though. I would definatly vote for anybody who promised and did cut taxes.
